Mir L.C. is a contemporary multidisciplinary portraitist currently based in Denver, Colorado, USA. As a self-taught artist, she began creating and selling work at just 14 years old. Mir attended the Academy of Art University where she majored in Illustration and fell in love with the vibrant street art and murals of San Francisco. She spent many years living in the Haight Ashbury where she raised her son, who went on to become a successful artist in his own right.
Mir's distict style spans a wide range of mediums, and is defined by blending feminine-coded realism with expressionistic gesture drawings.
"While much of my work has focused on portraiture of women, my recent collections have shifted toward exploring men as objects of desire, challenging traditional dynamics of beauty and observation. I don't paint what I see; but rather what I feel about what I see. I use sketch lines as part of my composition, layering them with vibrant fully rendered points of focus. With you know, a lot of pink."
