I hate this painting. It was the first fully rendered painting I did of Luigi, before I decided to do a whole collection. I wanted to paint his mugshot for the cultural significance of it. Initially I thought the photo was pretty flattering for a mugshut, but as I painted it became like The Picture of Dorian Gray. I felt like I could sense his exhaustion and uncertainty. I don't know what he went through before this photo was taken, but I feel like it shows through this painting.
